of Göttingen database of "literary life"
This internet website gives free access to a database jointly developed
at the University of Göttingen by a study group under Prof.Dr.Wilfried
Barner and the Göttingen Society for Academic Data-processing
(GWDG). The concept of "Literary Life" covers structures and processes
that enable or constrain the genesis, dispersal and reception of
literature. Data include chronologies of literary groups, literary
criticism, prize awards, literary controversies, etc., and extend
to fields that interreact with the literary: e.g. other arts, media,
politics, economy, justice. Bibliographic information is also given
on publications from the genres of prose, lyric verse, and drama,
as well as translations, child and youth literature, cultural/literary
theoretic writings, factual and instructional works, films and recorded
materials.
