We are able to offer our clients a professional interpreting service. Drawing on our very large network of experienced interpreters, we cater for most languages. The most popular languages are English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Chinese, Japanese and Arabic. Our specialist interpreters are able to study relevant documents beforehand to make sure that they are adequately prepared. This may also involve meeting speakers prior to a conference or studying technical jargon to find the correct phaseology to use on the day.

We offer three types of interpreting:

• informal interpreting
• consecutive interpreting
• simultaneous or booth interpreting

Informal interpreting

This type of interpreting is less structured and carried out on an ad hoc basis. It would include various meetings, 1:1 negotiations, in-company training, factory tours, tourists on a guided visit, interviews, court appearances, police interviews, and trade fairs.

Consecutive interpreting

This involves sentence-by-sentence or paragraph-by-paragraph translation. It is only suitable for one language pair, otherwise there is some waiting time for the third and subsequent languages.

Simultaneous or booth interpreting

This type of interpreting is ideal for multi-lingual conferences and large meetings.

Equipment

Specialist interpreting equipment, such as booths, headphones and microphones are available, along with an experienced technician to be on-site throughout the event. For a large conference we would install the equipment the day before and test it thoroughly beforehand.

The booths are normally in the same room as the conference, but if necessary we can place them in another room and install extra video-conferencing so that the interpreters can see the speakers. The equipment can be arranged in many different ways e.g. a traditional theatre-style conference or a round-table discussion

The procedure would typically be as follows:

• client submits outline details of the job type (e.g. one-to-one business meeting, conference interpreting...) using the on-line form /email/fax or post
• we quote a fee based on certain factors such as length and location of job and the degree of subject speciality
• payment can be made online using a credit card, by bank transfer or cheque.

Our minimum charge for interpreters and hire of equipment is the daily rate (rates available on request).
