Proof-reading:


Drawing on our large network of experienced proof-readers, we offer proof-reading for English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Chinese, Japanese and Arabic. The procedure would typically be as follows:
  • client submits outline details of the job type by means of the on-line form and a sample text (we suggest this is sent as a Word attachment to trans@lingualearn.co.uk)
  • we quote a fee based on certain factors such as length, timescale, language, the degree of accuracy required, and the technical difficulty of the text
  • Payment can be made online using a credit card, by bank transfer or cheque
Lingualearn is able to offer three very fast and flexible proof-reading services:

1. Bronze Service Proof-reading (high accuracy)

This service checks for spelling and grammar mistakes using proof-reading software and one proof-reader reading through the text slowly.  This service is sufficiently accurate for most letters, e-mails, and documents with a small number of readers.

The cost of the bronze service is in the region of £20 to £25 [approx' $38 US, EUR 38, $50 CAN] per 1000 words for English; Western European languages and other languages tend to be a little higher.

2. Silver Service Proof-reading (very high accuracy)

This service checks for spelling and grammar mistakes using proof-reading software and two proof-readers reading through the text slowly.  This service is sufficiently accurate for presentations and documents with a small to medium number of readers.

The cost of the silver service is in the region of £50 [approx' $75 US, EUR 75, $100 CAN] per 1000 words for English; Western European languages and other languages tend to be a little higher.

3. Gold Service Proof-reading (extremely high accuracy)

For very special or important documents, and those with a large number of readers e.g. brochures and websites.  This service checks for spelling and grammar mistakes using proof-reading software and three proof-readers reading through the text slowly. 

The cost of the gold service is in the region of £75 [approx' $115 US, EUR 115, $150 CAN] per 1000 words for English; Western European languages and other languages tend to be a little higher. Proof-reading of texts written by non-native speakers of the target language may cost considerably more.
